custom made pet portrait
a hand painted custom made pet portrait, to capture your pet(s) just as they are (and with lots of love, by me).
i am not over exaggerating when i say that animals are my favourite thing about this thing called life. from a very young age, i always have been lucky enough to be surrounded by pets growing up beside me. i still remember my first pet hamster, called muis (mouse, haha), multiple bunnies and our first family dog.
i am very well aware that those hundreds- or thousands, all live rent free in our brains. personally, i could stare at them all day long.. but what is even more extraordinary than turning one of those pictures in a hand painted pet portrait. capturing your pet and the love you have for them. just so you can stare at them some more.. :-)
how does it work?
after placing your order, i’ll send you an e-mail with some simple questions (your pets name, if you have any specific requests, etc.) in your reply to that e-mail, you can send along the pictures of your pet.
then the painting process will start! your portrait will be finished within 3 weeks time- often it will take a few days or so.
before shipping your pet portrait to you, i’ll send you a picture to make sure we’re both happy with the result.
can i request anything specific?
yes, of course! even better, i absolutely love hearing about all these particular requests. a heart shaped spot in her fur, those long eyelashes i can only dream of, those grey hairs that started to show, please tell me!
also, tell me your favourite colours, flower, etc. so i can make your pets portrait even more customisable by including those things.
good to know; i mainly paint just the head of the pets only. but if you’d like your pets whole body to be in the portrait, let me know!
how long will it take?
the turnaround time for the hand painted portraits will be between one to three week(s). sometimes it will be ready within a few days, but just to be sure during busy periods of time- three weeks will be the maximum.
if there is a specific date you’ll like to receive your pet portrait, feel free to get in contact and i’d love to see if we can make that happen!
will i receive a physical copy or a digital painting?
all of the pet portraits are hand painted on paper, so you’ll receive the original version in your mailbox!
what if i want more pets on a portrait than the option available?
short answer; everything is possible so feel free to send me an e-mail!
a longer explanation: i offer two sizes when it comes to these portraits, a5 and a4. so, it can get a bit ‘crowded’ very soon with two pets next to each other. that doesn’t mean it’s not possible, the opposite even. but in my opinion, the illustrations will lose some form of detail that i wouldn’t be able to create when painting multiple pets. that isn’t a particularity bad thing. but as the portraits i painted and use as an example what to expect when you order one yourself, i don’t want to disappoint someone by adding less detail than they expected.
that being said, everything is possible! so don’t hesitate to message me to look at the options. :-)
what kind of pictures should i send?
my motto has always been; the more the better. ;) i’d rather have a huge selection of pictures to chose from than the other way around. but besides that, pictures taken in good lighting and different angles are always helpful. and if you have a favourite picture, please feel free to mention!
if there is any more questions, i’d love to get in contact so don’t hesitate to do so!
